Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015

Dylan Carter pitched nine scoreless innings and David Cervantes tossed another four scoreless as Miami Springs edged Mourning Senior 1-0 in the bottom of the 13th inning to advance to the 6A-15 title game against top-seeded Goleman.

In the other 6A-15 semifinal, Goleman won its 20th game, beating Norland 4-1 as Kevin Perez fired a complete-game one-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Jeremy Garcia went 2-for-2 with two runs, a double and two stolen bases. Thomas Hernandez went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run.

Andres Fernandez pitched a three-hitter as St. Brendan nipped Florida Christian 1-0 in 4A-15. Benito Varela went 1-for-2 with a double, and Christian Martin drove in a run for the Sabres, who will face Mater Lakes Academy in tonight’s championship.

Mater Lakes beat Monsignor Pace 1-0 in the other 4A-15 semifinal as Rene Arauz struck out 13 in a four-hitter. David Seijo hit a home run to lift the Bears.

Gulliver Prep beat Coral Shores 8-1 in a 4A-16 semifinal. The Raiders advance to Friday’s title game against the winner of today’s semifinal between Key West and Keys Gate Charter.

Blake Miller homered and Matt Roberts also had a hit as Palmer Trinity edged Archbishop Carroll 2-1 in 3A-16. The Falcons advance to Friday’s title game against the winner of today’s semifinal between Marathon and Westminster Christian.

Miami Christian beat Champagnat 12-2 in 2A-15 and will face Brito in today’s championship.
