Manager Angel Herrera and the Killian Cougars celebrate his 200th career coaching victory on Wednesday.

Killian manager Angel Herrera reached a personal milestone with Wednesday’s 5-3 district win over Southridge, as it was his 200th career coaching victory.

“I find myself thinking about how blessed I am to be married to my wife Lissette Herrera. I also find myself feeling blessed to have learned and shared this life and profession with people I love,” Herrera said. “Carlos Marti, Rolando Casanova (May he RIP), and his son, Adrian Casanova. My players, that have all bought into our culture and way of doing things. To the coaches that have served in my program like Chris Abrams, Julio Andrade, Rafael Corrales, Herby Padron and other great men who have served tirelessly. Lisa and Lee Goldstein, Mercy Molina, Carrie and Armando Alvarez, Tony Sabbag, Mabel Granda, Judy Demurias, Leyva and Jesus Garcia and Julian Santos, who will forever be the standard. This program and this coach would not have been able to do what we have done without their tireless effort. Today, I share in what I have been able to accomplish with all of them. It means everything to me because it gives me an opportunity to honor my late father with my life and profession. He would have been so proud. To me, today’s win means that much more to me because of that.”
