Daily Recaps For Miami-Dade Games On Thursday, February 28th
Ferguson’s extra-innings win over Southwest Miami highlighted Thursday’s action around the county. Here’s a look at some of the games…


Ferguson 1, Southwest Miami 0 – Anthony Tucker had the game-winning RBI single with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning, scoring pinch-runner Eduardo Zavala from third. It was only the second hit of the game for the Falcons. Southwest ace Chris Mourelle pitched a complete game, striking out nine. Victor Morrell pitched five scoreless innings, striking out five, and Chris Medina pitched two shutout innings in relief.


Killian 1, Southridge 0 – Ryan Granda pitched a complete game, allowing two hits and striking out four to lead the Cougars, who are in first place in District 8A-16. Mike Perez drove in Zack Polito for the only run. Polito and Mike Sabbag had hits.


Ransom Everglades 4, Archbishop Curley 2 – Chris Rossi pitched six innings, allowed four hits and one earned run, and struck out seven for the Raiders (3-2). David Lanster went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two stolen bases, and Caleb Bush went 2-for-3. Royevan Armas doubled and drove in a run, and Sam Bolduc had a hit.


Westwood Christian 11, Miami Christian 4 – Anthony Penas hit two home runs as the Warriors improved to 4-1-1 and 2-0 in District 2A-15. Miguel Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a home run, and Danny Fernandez went 2-for-4.


Coral Gables 9, Miami Beach 2 – Jean Carlo Rodriguez struck out 10 and allowed no earned runs and walked none to lead the Cavalieres. Alex Pinero went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Elih Moriero went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. Coco Montes went 2-for-3.


Florida Christian 11, Marathon 0 – Zach San Roman went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as the Patriots (3-2) earned their first District 3A-16 win. Milton Ramos and Erik Montero each went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
