Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Wednesday, February 24th, 2016

Doral Academy limited TERRA to one hit and came up with just enough offense of its own to win 3-1 in a 7A-16 game Wednesday. Jordan Carrion went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Firebirds (4-3), who picked up their first district win. Brian Perez and Luis Valbuena each doubled and drove in a run. Jorge Perez tossed three innings to earn the win.

North Miami Beach snapped a four-game losing streak and earned its first win in 6A-16 by defeating Carol City 10-0. Jesus Morel pitched a complete game, striking out five and walking one, to earn the win for the Chargers (2-4). Joel Zequera went 4-for-4.

Kevin Rodriguez got the win as Booker T. Washington won its first game this season, holding off Miami Central 10-9. The Tornadoes are 1-2.

Westland Hialeah extending its winning streak to three games and won its third 8A-16 game this season, defeating Reagan 11-0. Gio Arrieta allowed three hits in four innings to earn the win for the Wildcats (5-2). Kevin Novoa smacked a three-run home run, and Michael Uz had two hits and drove in two runs. Evander Hernandez added two hits, bringing in three runs.
