Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Friday, February 19th, 2016

Brandon Paez drove in the winning run as Goleman staved off an upset bid by Mourning Senior to win 3-2 in a 6A-16 game Friday. Mario Lopez pitched four innings to earn the win for the Gators (5-0). Jasial Perez went 2-for-3 with a run, and Jeremey Garcia went 2-for-3 with a double.

I-Mater scored in the bottom of the seventh to walk off on Michael Bell’s hit against Miami Beach 4-3. James Montoya struck out two to earn the win in relief of Darwin Rodas, who went six and two-thirds innings, striking out three and giving up two earned runs. Sabas Arauz went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Nelson Alvarez went 2-for-3 and smacked a first-inning grand slam as Braddock held off Ferguson 4-3 in 9A-15. Ovaldo Fernandez tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts.

Hialeah Gardens got its fifth win this season by holding off a tenacious Dr. Krop team in 9A-13, winning 6-3. Carlos Alcon struck out six in four innings for the Gators (5-0). Allan Berrios went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and two runs, and Manny Mollinedo went 2-for-3 with a double, run and two stolen bases.
