Braddock 7, Sunset 6 – Ivan Nunez and Albert Rafael each went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run to help the Bulldogs to just their third win of the season at 3-6 as they upset the Knights (9-2) in an 8A-15 matchup. Nunez drove in four runs and Rafael two. Anthony Alvarez went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Westwood Christian 7, Archbishop Carroll 5 – Claudio Rubiera hit the go-ahead three-run homer, and Anthony Pena homered twice as the Warriors (8-1-1) beat the Bulldogs (5-6). Danny Garcia struck out six in four innings.
Miami Beach 3, Miami 2 – Leoni Lamanna went 2-for-4 and delivered the game-winning hit to lift the Hi-Tides (1-10) to their first win of the season. Christian Almonte struck out eight in a complete-game performance. Gabriel Obregon went 2-for-2 with a triple and two stolen bases, and Themi Pineda went 2-for-3 with a stolen base.
Hialeah Gardens 12, North Miami Beach 2 – Eddy Nodarse struck out four in four innings, and Alejandro Piedra went 2-for-3 with three runs to power the Gladiators (6-6), who are on a three-game winning streak. Gary Garcia went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs, and Richard Abreu had a pair of hits, including a double, and a pair of runs. David Lara tripled, scored and drove in three.
Ferguson 4, Coral Park 0 – Victor Morrell allowed one hit and struck out three in six innings pitched to pace the Falcons (7-4) in the 8A-15 matchup. Pablo Nieves went 2-for-3 with a run and RBI, and Daniel Rivero went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Southwest 4, South Miami 0 – Chris Mourelle and Alex Perera each went 2-for-4 to guide the Eagles (4-4-1) past the Cobras (5-6) in an 8A-15 matchup. Heman Sardinas went 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
Coral Gables 7, Goleman 0 – German Reyes went 1-for-4 with a grand slam to key the Cavaliers’ sixth win in a row as they improved to 8-3 in a 14-8A matchup. Alex Pinero went 2-for-4 with a double, and Raymond Gonzalez also had two hits.
Belen Jesuit 5, Mourning 1 – William Fabra pitched a complete-game three hitter, striking out 12. Ryan Rodriguez-Mena went 2-for-4 with a run, and Alec Acosta went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs. David Villa had two hits, driving in two. David Guevara doubled and scored.
Southridge 6, Varela 4 – Austin Peterson doubled and drove in three, and Brandon Garcia went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Spartans (5-4) in the 8A-16 clash. Isaac DaSilva struck our four in an inning and a half.
Hialeah 3, American 0 – Alex Miret went 2-for-3 to pace the Thoroughbreds (8-3) in a match-up of the top teams in 8A-13.
