The wins just keep on coming for South Dade…
South Dade 5, Palmetto 4 – Shane Castro drove in the winning run to lead the Buccaneers (8-4) past the Panthers (7-6). It was the fifth straight win for South Dade, which is in the top spot in 8A-16
Norland 13, Northwestern 3: Deshawn Simpkons hit a home run for the Vikings (4-8), who are 2-3 in their past five games.
Varela 10, Coral Reef 0 – Juan Pimentel tossed a complete-game two hitter with seven strikeouts, and Ben Murray had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Jesus Rodriguez went 1-for 2 with two RBIs.
Monsignor Pace 12, Miami Jackson 0 – Ibrahim Silwany allowed two earned runs in four innings and doubled for Jackson (4-9).
Ferguson 7, South Miami 4 – Alan Saumell pitched 4 and two-thirds innings of no-hit relief and struck out eight to earn the win for the Falcons (8-4). Pablo Nieves had the clutch two-out hit in the bottom of the sixth to drive in the go-ahead run, and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a run and a stolen base. Chris Bec and Anthony Tucker both went 2-for-4 as the Falcons pounded out 12 hits.
LaSalle 9, TERRA 0 – Mike Matheis pitched a three-hitter, striking out nine, and Elier Rodriguez went 4-for-4 with a double and RBI. Mike Avila went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI, and Yordan Piedra had two hits and scored twice.
Braddock 10, Coral Park 3 – Gaby Mundo went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, and Anthony Alvarez hit two doubles and drove in a run for the Bulldogs (4-6), who have won two in a row. Brian Hernandez went 2-for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Doral 6, Ransom Everglades 4 – Alejandro Juvier went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs, and Ryan Gronlier went 3-for-3 with home run, run and two RBIs. Carlos Pino went 2-for- 3.
Southridge 1, Killian 0 – Dayron Moreno allowed two hits and struck out eight in six and two-thirds innings for the Spartans (6-5).
Coral Gables 2, Miami Springs 0 – JeanCarlo Rodriguez pitched a complete-game four-hitter. Yoan Gonzalez and Elih Marrero each had a hit for the Cavaliers (9-4).
