Hialeah 6, Goleman 2 – Adan Guiterrez struck out nine in six innings, and Jonathan Diaz went 3-for-4 for the Thoroughbreds (13-3) as they avenged an earlier loss to the Gators (12-6) and won their ninth in a row. Alian Silva went 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs. Hialeah faces Charlotte Christian in the Sunshine Classic title game at 8 tonight.
Sarasota 8, Palmetto 1 – Michael Wall went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Panthers (8-9) in the Sarasota Classic.
Mater Academy 9, Southwest Miami 2 – Danny Casals, Hernan Sardinas and Robert Cancio had hits for the Eagles (7-7-1) in the Selective Recruiting/Sir Pizza Invitational.
LaSalle 10, Coral Reef 1 – Elier Rodriguez went 2-for-2 with two home runs and four RBIs to pace the Royal Lions (8-9) in the Selective Recruiting/Sir Pizza Invitational.
American 5, Miami Senior 1 – The Patriots (14-4) staved off an upset bid by Miami Senior (1-15). Edison Cabrera went 2-for-2 with two runs in the Selective Recruiting/Sir Pizza Invitational.
Doral 3, South Miami 1 – Alejandro Juvier went 1-for-3 with a run, and Chris Hernandez went 1-for-3 with an RBI and home run for the Firebirds in the Selective Recruiting/Sir Pizza Invitational. Nelson Montilla went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Andy Navarette pitched a complete game.
Belen Jesuit 12, TERRA 5 – Alex Lorenzo went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Alex Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a double, run and three RBIs for the Wolverines (12-4) in the Selective Recruiting/Sir Pizza Invitational. Ryan Rodriguez-Mena went 2-for-4, 2B, 2RBI. Pablo Cabrera scored twice, and Niko Fernandez had a hit and a run. David Guevara went 2-for-3 with three runs, a double and an RBI.
Riverdale 7, Southridge 4 – Brandon Garcia went 1-for-2 with two RBIs, and Diandre Amion allowed two hits in three innings pitched.
Reagan 8, Westland Hialeah 3 – Sergio Santana went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for the Bison (9-7). Edgar Pages and Joe Diaz each had two hits.
