Having scored two runs in the first, Coral Gables remained undefeated behind a one-run pitching performance from Victor Quintero and Bryan Melendez. Ryan Alvarez and Nelson Mompierre both went yard for Columbus Friday in their 15-run offensive showcase. To pick up one win in a week seems to be difficult enough, for Southridge’s Octavio Mirabal he recorded his second win this week in an 8-3 victory over Mourning Senior. Alvarez was a perfect 4-for-4, and added two double and five RBIs to his home run. Momiperre, who fell short of a matching fourth hit, was a stellar 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs to go along with his homer. Matt Marini proved four solid innings and picked up the win on the mound.

In rare form, the Spartans had three players combine to hit four triples in Friday's 8-3 win. Josten Heron was responsible for two of those triples on his three hits. Diandre Amion, 3-for-4 with a RBI and double, tallied the third triple for Southridge. Jamar Criss added to the mix, with three RBIs, three hits and a triple of his own.
