Andrew Cabezas struck out 12 and pitched a two-hitter as Coral Gables beat Columbus 3-1 on Wednesday in an 8A-15 game. The Cavaliers, who are third in the district at 5-3, have won two in a row.

Anthony Vilar and Miguel Cardoza each had two hits, including home runs, and drove in a combined five runs as Westminster Christian rebounded from an upset loss the night before to hold off SLAM 14-13 in a showcase of offense. Julian Infante had three hits and drove in four runs.

Chris Rodriguez struck out 10 and pitched a one-hitter to key Miami Senior’s 4-1 win over LaSalle. It was the 10th consecutive win for the Stingarees following an 0-3 start to the season.
