Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Monday, April 20th, 2015

South Dade, Ferguson, Miami Senior, Hialeah, Mater Academy and Coral Shores won their district playoff games Monday to advance.

South Dade beat Killian 7-5 in 8A-16, moving on to Thursday’s championship.

Ferguson downed Southwest Miami 4-2 in 8A-15, gaining a spot in today’s quarterfinals against top-seeded Columbus.

Miami Senior beat Miami Beach 11-1, and Hialeah topped Hialeah Gardens 6-4 in the 8A-14 semifinals. Hialeah and Miami Senior are set to square off in the championship Wednesday.

Fourth-seeded Mater Academy shocked top-seeded TERRA, winning 8-3. The Lions advance to Thursday’s championship against the winner of today’s game between Doral and Belen Jesuit.

Coral Shores knocked off Ransom Everglades 11-4, advancing to play top-seeded Gulliver Prep at 1 p.m. Wednesday in a semifinal.
