Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Wednesday, February 17th, 2016

EJ Doskow delivered the winning hit in the bottom of the seventh to lift Southridge past Varela 3-2 on Wednesday. Victor Feliz earned the win in relief of Ryan Margolis, who pitched six strong innings, striking out four and allowing two earned runs. Dylan Krzeminski and Ralph Fernandez each hit doubles as the Spartans rolled to 4-0.

Yordy Cabrera struck out eight in five innings and fired a no-hitter as Miami Jackson rode a seven-run first inning to beat North Miami Beach 11-0. Kerlin Mateo went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Hector Rodriguez added two hits and drove in three. Armando Prieto had two hits, including a triple, and drove in a run.

Marcel Guardarrama struck out eight in just three innings and also had a hit and drove in two runs as Mourning won its first game this season by beating Carol City 17-0. Max Liff went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Steven Vinson struck out eight as Ransom Everglades stayed unbeaten with a 2-0 win over Somerset Academy Charter.

Adrian Garrastazu pitched a complete game, striking out 12, to key Goleman’s 3-1 win over Norland. The Gators rolled to 4-0.
