Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Friday, March 11th, 2016

Hialeah Educational snapped a six-game losing streak as it upset University School 8-3 in a 4A-7 game Friday. The Bulldogs improved to 3-8, 2-7.

Oscar Trujillo struck out 10, walked two and gave up six hits and no earned runs as Doral Academy won its second in a row, defeating Coral Reef 4-3 in a non-district matchup. Lency Delgado went 2-for-3 with a run and RBI, and Michael Marin went 1-for-2 with a double, run and RBI for the Firebirds (9-4). Erving Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Brian Socorro went 2-for-3 with a run for the Rams (7-3).

Alek Manoah went 2-for-3 with a double and earned the win in Southridge’s 3-0 win over Columbus. It was the fifth win in a a row for the Buccaneers (9-1). Chris Allende (RBI) and Rich Sobalvarro each had two hits. Gio Fernandez struck out six in three hits.
