Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Thursday, March 17th, 2016

Coral Park rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Hialeah 9-8 on Thursday in a non-district game. Josh Rollins drove in the winning run, and Bran Socorro went 4-for-4 with two RBIs for the Rams (9-4). Erwin Hernandez went 3-for-4 with two runs, and Brandon Gomez added two hits and drove in two runs. Erik Estevez also had two RBIs. Kevin Barreneche, Daniel Nieto and John Venegas each had two hits for Hialeah (8-5), which turned a 5-4 deficit into an 8-5 lead with a four-run sixth.

Sagemont snapped Archbishop Carroll’s six-game winning streak with a 7-0 win in a 3A-8 game.

Zach Peckins pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and also banged out three hits, including two doubles, driving in a run for Palmer Trinity in its 11-0 win over Marathon. Justin Kross added two hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs. Dillon Jones drove in two runs.

Homestead blasted 18 hits en route to a 16-6 win over Norland. David Munoz had four hits, including a double and a home run, and Horacio Campillo, David Villafane and Jose Navarro (four RBIs) added three hits each.
