South Dade won its third in a row as it showcased its offense in a 14-2 win over Killian in a 9A-16 matchup Thursday. The Buccaneers (7-1) banged out 14 hits and moved into first place in the district just ahead of the Cougars (6-2). Willy Escala led the way, going 3-for-4 with a double, home run, four RBIs and three runs, and Alek Manoah went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Jason Rivero went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI, and Jhan Barrios scored twice and drove in a run.
LaSalle also won its third in a row as it belted 12 hits in a 12-1 win over Palmer Trinity. Brian Garcia went 3-for-3 with two runs, and Carlos Quintana went 3-for-3 with a triple, three RBI and two runs for the Royal Lions (7-3).
