Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Monday, April 18th, 2016

Jorge Bellido de Luna went 1-for-1 with two walks and the winning RBI as Hialeah rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat American 2-1 in a 9A-13 semifinal Monday. Erislandy Rives struck out six in a complete game for the second-seeded Thoroughbreds (11-11), who will play top-seeded Hialeah Gardens in Wednesday’s championship. Jonathan Sanchez went 1-for-2 with a walk and RBI.

Steven Vinson struck out eight in a complete game to earn the win for Ransom Everglades, which scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to rally past Palmer Trinity 12-6 in a 4A-8 quarterfinal. Rick Suarez went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Matthew Jackson went 1-for-2 with a run and three RBIs for the fourth-seeded Raiders (14-6), who face top-ranked Florida Christian in today’s semifinal. Ryan Moralejo went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs, and Ilan Lindenfield added two hits.
