Miami-Dade Hitter, Pitcher, & Coach Of The Month: February

It was a great first month of baseball here in Miami, and its time for our first ever, HSBN Miami Hitter, Pitcher, and Coach of the Month awards!!!

There will be a winner each month in each category, from a private school program, and a public school program.

Let’s see who the winners for February are!

February 2025 Hitter of the Month:

Public Schools:

Marcelo Torres, Senior, Braddock Bulldogs
– .417 Avg.
– 3 HRs, 2 2Bs
– 11 RBIs

Private Schools:

Jose Correa, Senior, Columbus Explorers
– 652 AVG.

February 2025 Pitcher of the Month:

Public Schools:

Alfrin Rosario, Senior, Mater Academy Lions
– 1.87 ERA
– 29Ks in 15 Innings
– Only 4 Earned Runs
– 1.13 WHIP

Private Schools:

Tino Pena, Junior, Ransom Everglades
– 3-0 Record
– 0.84 ERA
– 24 Ks in 16 Innings
– Allowed only 2 Earned Runs

February 2025 Coach of the Month:

Public Schools:

David Fanshawe, Miami Springs
– 7-0 In February
– Only undefeated team in Miami-Dade
– In 9th Year with the Hawks
– Has made a State Final Four Appearance

Private Schools:

Joe Weber, Columbus Explorers
– 7-1 Record in February
– Has Explorers ranked #2 in HSBN Miami Power Rankings
– Looking to get back to states for first time since 2018
– Three state appearances in the past 10 seasons
